An Ally: New Zealand

Allied Fleets in the Second World War
& Indian/Pacific Theatre

Ships from a number of countries assisted the Australian-based logistic effort to repulse and eventually overcome the Japanese aggression in the Asian/Pacific area.

The greater number came from the collective support provided by New Zealand, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway and USA.

Many decades of trans-Tasman trade had cemented ties and mutual understanding between New Zealand and Australia and the wartime deployment of New Zealand vessels, not only in their own country's service but also as part of the Allied efforts in turning back the Japanese threat was a natural outcome.
